Marión remained at the presidential mansion and there, in a three-step surgical process, several days apart, Trujillo's urination was normalized. In gratitude, Trujillo showered Marion with honors. He stayed two months in the country, gave courses at the university, was decorated with the order of Juan Pablo Duarte and was invested as doctor honoris causa by the University of Santo Domingo.

Three years later, in September 1938, the illustrious French surgeon returned to the country, invited by Trujillo, to attend the inauguration of the military hospital that bears his name.
